The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has also just been unveiled. The latest incarnation of the Note is now waterproof and features a curved screen, improved cameras and enhanced cameras. The device has a 5.7 inch screen but it actually narrower than its predecessor because of the curved screen. Users can switch on the device just by looking it thanks to the iris scanner. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the device is very similar in appearance to the Galaxy S7 Edge. It is actually slightly larger than the Edge 7 and features a glass back.

Looking at the Note 7

The device has an HD AMOLED screen offering vibrant colours and high visibility even in outside. It has open doors and an S Pen that can work underwater. The Note 7 also has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as well as room for a microSD card. The device comes with Android 6.0.1. and features a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Other features include wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and either a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or an octa-core Samsung Exynos 8890 processor. You can expect a day’s worth of battery from a single charge based on conventional use. The device charges quickly, reaching around 75% in less than an hour. Battery life is set to increase once Android 7.0 Nougat is rolled out. If there’s one area that the device has drawn criticism about, it is price, with the Note 7 not being far from the cheapest on the market.

Have you heard about the Notebook 7 Spin?

Samsung has also recently unveiled the Notebook 7 Spin, a new hybrid device which is being seen as the finest laptop in the manufacturer’s range. The machine has been compared favourably to the MacBook Pro and features a number of enticing features, including a sixth-generation Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM. The machine is of obvious appeal to gamers thanks to its 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce 940MX video card. It is also a good match for those seeking vast storage and fast performance due to its 128GB solid state drive and 1TB hard drive. Laptop repair companies around the world will be getting to grips with the device.

A rival for the MacBook Pro?

The machine also has a 1920 x 1080 full HD screen, which will be suitable for most users but perhaps lacking for those interested in 4K screens and other high-end options. The lower-resolution screen may well play a pivotal role in providing the machine with its generous battery life however. It’s thought that Samsung are using the machine to target potential MacBook Pro customers. The 15.6-inch device starts at around $800. It has an all-silver aluminium body with black keys and is slightly weightier than many similar systems on the market. The machine has been praised for its build quality, with a single long hinge supporting the lid as opposed to two small ones. Additionally, the device has curved backlit keys and a reflective silver touchpad.

A number of ports

The Notebook 7 spin also offers a range of ports, including an Ethernet port, an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, a USB-C port, 2x USB 2.0 ports and a slot for an SD card. The machine is covered by a one-year warranty and features Bluetooth. It is a useful match for anyone seeking a machine for work or play, though some reviewers have said that its bulky weight could make life difficult for those seeking portability from their machine.
